FAQs

I have compiled a list of frequently asked questions for your convenience. If you have other questions, feel free to email me at hrodburg@gmail.com.

Q: Where are you located?

A: I am based in Bethlehem, PA.

Q: Where do sessions take place?

A: Our session can take place either in my studio or on a location of your choice. During our initial consultation, you can tell me about the kind of feel you want to your images or let me know which images speak most to you on my website. Then we can determine the best location for your session. I have spent quite a bit of time searching out great locations in the area, but you may already have a place in mind and always welcome your ideas! As long as there are no restrictions on photography, I’m happy to take pictures almost anywhere.

For pets, I’m happy to come to your house if that’s where your pet is most comfortable, or if he/she doesn’t travel well. If the session takes place in your family home, finding a good source of natural lighting will be a priority, but I will also bring along my travel studio equipment just in case I need to make my our magical light.

Q: Is my session fee refundable?

A: No, the fee is not refundable. If a conflict arises with the date and we need to reschedule due to an emergency or weather, the fee will be applied to another session at a later date. I keep a number of backup dates open each month in case of bad weather, and there is no fee to reschedule to a new date if it’s raining.

Q: Do you shoot weddings?

A: No, I don’t currently shoot weddings, but I have photographed engagement sessions.

Q: What happens if my child or pet is not feeling well?

A: If your child or pet is ill, then I ask you to let me know as soon as possible and I can postpone your session. I wouldn’t dream of forcing a sick child or pet to have a photo shoot, as this would be miserable for everyone involved. It’s much better to wait until they are feeling better and we can all have an amazing time during your session.

Q: Where should I print?

A: If you choose not to print on the fine art, museum quality paper through me, I highly recommend using an excellent online consumer lab that offers quality prints. Unitprints.com or mpix.com are two consumer labs I recommend. I do not recommend printing your images at Shutterfly, Target, Walmart, CVS, or Costco. These labs are not designed to handle printing professional photography.

Q: Do you offer mini-sessions?

A: I believe that photography should not be a rushed experience — I want you to truly enjoy our time together and leave with some amazing memories. The difference in expressions between the beginning and end of the session is truly remarkable. I find that when children have time to settle into the session and get used to the camera and me, we’re able to create more authentic portraits. However, there will be times that I may open up a day or mini sessions to existing clients we have already worked together. I will send out an email notification alerting you to the session and announce it on my Facebook page, so make sure to like and follow my page!

Q: Do you deliver every image you shoot?

A: No, we do not. Duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery are eliminated. Candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images but they can unfortunately result in some unflattering or awkward facial expressions. I always try and capture extra shots of these moments in order to ensure I have the best image with the ideal expression. With my expertise in hand selecting and custom editing thousands of photos each year, I eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the very best quality images.
